VFIHA’s 2023-24 Rep Coaches
U18A Head Coach: Owen Hart
We are excited to welcome Owen Hart back for another season with VFIHA! Owen led the U18A team to bronze at the 2023 BC Hockey
U18 Female Championship in Williams Lake. He spent two years playing in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) with the Princeton Posse and Revelstoke Grizzlies. In addition, he is a Program Coordinator and Lead Coach with Leslie Global Sports and a Recruiter for the West Coast Prep Camp.
Joining Owen as assistant coaches are Celine Tardif and Lauryn Lee. Celine played for the University of British Columbia from 2014-2019, followed by four seasons in Sweden’s professional women’s hockey league. Lauryn played with the Pacific Steelers (a high performance development team in the JWHL) from 2018-2020, and most recently played in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League with the Burnaby Mountain Capitals.
U15A Head Coach: John Koldenhof
John Koldenhof brings extensive experience working with all age
groups, from U7 upwards, at both the house (C) and rep (A) levels, and has coached players who have gone on to play in the WHL. He previously coached with VFIHA from 2013-2015 while his daughter played for the Angels. John describes his practices as high tempo and composed of lots flow and fun. He aims to instil in each and every player trust in themselves, their teammates, and the game plan.
Sam Gotowiec will play a big role as John’s assistant coach. Sam is a well-known goalie coach with Elite Goalies and has worked with several VFIHA goaltenders.
U13A Head Coach: Ryan Page
Ryan Page grew up in Vancouver and played minor hockey with the Vancouver Thunderbirds. He has spent the past five years coaching his former high school hockey team, the Magee Lions. He is also currently coaching rep hockey and development sessions for North Vancouver Minor Hockey and is a Lead Coach with Leslie Global Sports.
Joining Ryan as assistant coaches are Dana Tanner and Amy de Bree. Dana is a coach with the Vancouver North East Chiefs (a boys U18 AAA team) and North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association. She is also a certified personal trainer. Amy has over 20 years of coaching experience, including 11 years with the BC Hockey Program of Excellence and 10 years with the Vancouver Thunderbirds. She believes in developing athletes through a holistic approach and is a strong advocate for creating equal opportunities and accessibility for women in sport. In addition to coaching, Amy is a high school teacher, the Vancouver Thunderbirds Camps and Clinics Programmer, and an Executive Director for the UBC Women’s Hockey Alumni Association.
We would also like to thank our departing U13A coaches Jaime Yee and Emily Froese and U15A coaches Haneet Parhar and Shay
