VFIHA is pleased to announce that Katie Gaskin is returning as U18 A Head Coach for the 2021-22 season.

“What else can we say about the amazing Katie Gaskin?” said VFIHA Director of Coaching Jeff Smith. “Not only does Katie bring the hockey IQ of a professional hockey player, she is a tireless development coach who is always willing to jump in and help all Angels players elevate their game. We are very happy to have Katie back for the 2021-22 season.”

“I am thrilled to be returning to VFIHA for another season!” said Katie. “It has been such a positive and fulfilling experience coaching our U18 A team for the past two seasons and watching them continue to develop to the university/college level. I am looking forward to continuing to work with our U18 group as well as assist with powerskating and skills development for the grassroots levels this upcoming season. Go Van Angels go!”

Katie is originally from Toronto and played four seasons of NCAA hockey, one with Wayne State University (Division I) and three with Elmira College (Division III). In 2013, she helped lead her Elmira College team to an NCAA National Championships title. She was drafted twelfth overall by the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL)’s Toronto Furies and played three seasons with the team while studying at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Katie now works in Vancouver at MVMTLAB as a chiropractor and strength and conditioning coach.
