Two Vancouver Female teams won gold at the 12th Annual Female Hockey Remembrance Day Tournament at Burnaby 8 Rinks!

Our Atom C1 team lost their three round robin games, but stayed positive and upbeat, progressing to the final with a 4-1 win over South Delta (who had beat them 10-2 in the round robin) in the semifinals.

The final was against Meadow Ridge (who had beat them 8-3 in the round robin), and the Atom C1 team played with heart, trust for their teammates, and full effort on every shift, winning the final 4-3! As their team manager described it, the weekend was full of “pure hockey magic”!

Our Midget C2 team also won gold at the tournament. The team tied all three of their round robin games, before shutting out North Shore C2 in the semifinals with a score of 2-0 and Western Washington in the final with a score of 5-0.

To top it all off, the Midget C2 team also won the tournament raffle prize of 32 tickets to a Canucks game in January!

Our Novice C1 and C3 teams also participated in the tournament. Both teams had a lot of fun, with the girls continuing to improve and grow closer as teammates over the weekend.

Congratulations to all of the teams that participated and won medals in the tournament and thank you to Burnaby Minor Hockey for organizing a great event!
