Lucas_Robinson

Lucas Robinson, Head Coach

Now entering his 9th season of coaching, Lucas takes the bench this year as Head Coach of the U15 A1 team, following two seasons leading the U13 A1 squad. Currently taking his High Performance 1 certification and has also completed Hockey Canada’s Development 1 course, Lucas brings both experience and a strong foundation in player development to the role.

Lucas believes hockey is about more than the scoreboard, it’s a place where players build life skills, learn to compete in a healthy, competitive environment, and form lasting relationships within their community. His teams are built on accountability, connection, and the belief that the lessons learned on the ice carry far beyond it.

Parents and players alike can expect a coach who is invested not just in wins, but in helping every athlete grow as a teammate, competitor, and person.

DSC00443~2 - Eero McNeilly

Eero McNeilly, Assistant Coach

Eero McNeilly has played hockey for 16 years, inspired by the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Much of that time was spent with the Vancouver Angels association, from U15 to U21 at both the house and rep levels. During that time, they were also lucky to train with the Burnaby North Hockey Academy, and later attend and play in the 2019 BC Provincials. An avid hockey lover and vocal proponent of women's sports, Eero is thrilled to take on their new role as an Assistant Coach for the A1 U15s.

alanna

Alanna Main, Assistant Coach

Hi everyone! I am newly retired from collegiate hockey, and I am so excited to be jumping into the coaching world! I played two years of ACHA D1 Women's hockey at the University of Arizona, and I am now a sciences student at UBC Vancouver. My goals for coaching this year are to foster a positive environment for all my players, and to help create a family within our team. I can't wait to share my love for hockey, and I am looking forward to the upcoming season!

Sandra_Gans

Sandra Gans, Head Coach

My name is Sandra Gans, and I’m very excited to be back with the Angels this season as the U13 A coach. I previously coached the U15A team from 2020–2022, making this my third season with the organization.

Having grown up playing hockey in Toronto, I began coaching skills, drills, and power skating early on. Those experiences sparked a passion for helping young athletes develop their game and, just as importantly, build confidence in themselves. I believe sport and recreation can play a powerful role in helping young people, particularly young women, challenge themselves, grow, and form lasting friendships.

My coaching philosophy is simple: skate hard and have fun. Strong skating, hard work, and a positive attitude can take players a long way, but just as importantly, I want players to enjoy coming to the rink, support their teammates, and leave every practice and game with a smile on their face.

Jadeyn Leung, Assistant Coach

I played competitive hockey as a goaltender for 10 years, including at the academy level, and have experience coaching young female goaltenders. Having competed at a high level myself, I understand the commitment, discipline, and work ethic required to continually improve. I bring that experience to the ice while creating an environment where players are challenged to reach their potential.

Tracy Liang, Assistant Coach

Hockey has been a big part of my life for the past 10 years, both as a player and as a referee at the minor and high performance levels. Outside of that, I have enjoyed assistant coaching my high school team and mentoring new referees. Seeing improvement and progress is genuinely one of my favorite parts of being involved. My goal as a coach is to help create a space that is fun and inclusive for every player, where they feel supported as athletes and as people. I'm excited to bring positive energy to the ice this season and keep learning right alongside the team!

Over the past three years, she has worked as an instructor at Scotiabarn, where she leads power skating and Skills & Drills programs for youth and adult players. In addition to coaching, May serves as a referee, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the game from both instructional and officiating perspectives. Before hockey, May competed in boardercross snowboarding for 10 years, bringing a strong competitive mindset and athletic background to her coaching. As a coach, she led her recreational team to back-to-back divisional championships in the 2025-26 Winter League and 2026 Summer League.

May's coaching philosophy is simple: work hard, support your teammates, never give up, and have fun. She believes the best teams succeed through effort, teamwork, and a positive attitude both on and off the ice.
