Katie Gaskin will return as coach of the VFIHA U18 (Midget) A team, and Emily Froese and Jaime Yee will return as coaches of the VFIHA U13 (Peewee) A team for the 2020-21 season.

Katie is originally from Toronto and played four seasons of NCAA hockey, one with Wayne State University (Division I) and three with Elmira College (Division III). In 2013, she helped lead her Elmira College team to an NCAA National Championships title. She was drafted twelfth overall by the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL)’s Toronto Furies and played three seasons with the team while studying at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Katie now works in Vancouver at MVMTLAB as a chiropractor and strength and conditioning coach.

Emily and Jaime both grew up playing hockey with VFIHA, with Emily starting in Atom and Jaime in Tyke. Emily, a forward, and Jaime, a defender, played rep hockey with VFIHA from Peewee through Midget and have spent the last few seasons in the South Coast Women’s Hockey League. They both have experience teaching skating for the City of Vancouver and Emily has coached for Leslie Global Sports. Emily and Jaime both attend Simon Fraser University, where Emily studies education and Jaime studies archaeology.

VFIHA is declaring a U15 (Bantam) A team for the 2020-21 season, and is currently looking for a head coach for the team. Interested individuals can find out more by emailing info@vfiha.com.
