Coaching Credentials
Before stepping on the ice, all team volunteers (coaches, on-ice helpers, safety personnel, managers, and team staff) must complete the following:
Required for All Team Volunteers:
Criminal Record Check (CRC)
- Valid for three seasons
- Completed through the BC Ministry of Justice
- Access Code: VBQDP4LYHL
- Submit your Service Number to safety@vfiha.com
Complete CRC https://justice.gov.bc.ca/criminalrecordcheck
At the end, please note the SERVICE NUMBER (not the Session ID) provided and email it to safety@vfiha.com. This will act as proof of submission until the final clearance letter comes in.
The Shift Forward Program (volunteers & bench staff)
- Approximately 1 hour
- Online
- Select Vancouver Female IHA
- Reimbursed once rostered and all credentials are complete
Complete Respect in Sport Clinic Registration | BC HOCKEY
Once complete, submit your receipt for reimbursement — please note that reimbursement will be made after December 1st and only when all credentials are in place and you are rostered to a team
Concussion Awareness Training Tool (CATT)
- Complete the Coach version
- Email certificate to safety@vfiha.com

Coach Certifications
Depending on the division you're coaching, Hockey Canada requires additional certifications.
These include:
- Coach 1 (required for U7-U9 coaches)
- Coach 2 (required for U11–U18 coaches)
- Additional Hockey Canada certifications based on division
