The History

Killarney Girls Ice Hockey Association (KGIHA) was founded in <1986> and included teams for the novice age group through midget. Each team had an individual name, including the Killarney Shamrocks and the Killarney . In <2007> the association took on a broader mandate to provide female youth hockey opportunities throughout the city of Vancouver.

Today, the association continues to mirror the growth of female hockey throughout Canada which sees the expansion of the number of female hockey teams and leagues at an all-time high.
